The Honor the Hero Stakes was a dash to the finish on a soft turf track at Canterbury Park. The rain had slowed to a sprinkle but the horses’ hooves were sinking straight into the rain-soaked track causing deep divots and kicking up a muddy grass mixture behind the horses.
Bet Seattle won the stakes race. The horse is trained by Mac Robertson whose family has a long history at Canterbury Park. Jockey Geovanni Franco won the race, coaxing Bet Seattle through the finish line.
