Michael Self repeats as winner at the Brainerd International Raceway.
Not unlike last years NASCAR K&N Pro West Series trip to Brainerd International Raceway patience paid off for the number 21 Michael Self. Self kept the leaders in sight until the later stages of the 125 mile feature.
On the last restart of the race, Self made his move on the 24 car of Cameron Hayley, who lead the race twice, stealing the front spot from the series point leader number 6 Derek Thorn. Cameron came back after a flat tire to finish fifth while Thorn held fast to place second. The number 26 Greg Pursley finished in the third spot and rookie Dylan Lupton came home a solid forth in the number 9 car.
On a side note, Dylan Lupton spent the day Friday in the BIR Performance Driving School polishing his road racing skills and learning the newly resurfaced BIR competition course. Dylan scored his highest finish to date in the K&N Pro West Series and solidified his rookie of the year point lead.
