4th of July at Canterbury Park is a weekend long event. On July 3 the Fireworks spectacular lit up the Shakopee sky after an evening of horse racing. On the 4th of July the 12 race card was run in ideal conditions while fans enjoyed free hot dogs (an annual tradition on the 4th) and witnessed a hot dog eating contest and a taste of the wiener dog races that will invade the horse track on Labor day later this year.
Below are some pictures from the weekend’s festivities. The Minnesota Sports Report will be busy in July with Ostrich, Camel, Zebra and professional motocross racing as well as photos and stories from the start of Training camp in Mankato. Follow us on Facebook and Twitter to stay informed.
