Broadway Empire impresses early at Canterbury Park’s Labor Day racing

Broadway Empire impressed the crowd early in race number two, winning easily in the 7.5 furlong race that was moved from the turf track to the dirt track after over an inch of rain fell last night, soaking the turf.

After race two a pair of Wiener Dog Wars heats took to the dirt track.  In a flurry of ears, tiny legs and dirt the 24 dogs (two races of 12 dogs) flew down the track.  Only the top two advanced to the finals, to be held after race seven.  Perennial favorite Oscar flew down the track advancing.

Stay tuned to The Minnesota Sports Report for more photos from the races.
