Just seven days ago Minnesota’s MMA community collectively held their breath in shock as one of their own, Dan Kiser suffered a horrific injury in the main event of a Sterling Entertainment Group and Driller Promotions event in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota.
Kiser suffered a massive injury on Saturday May 24 and has battled back and had an amazing recovery. Minnesota MMA News reported, after talking to Dan’s father about his progress, “The neurologist said if you had asked last Monday if Daniel would be where he’s at now, he would have said he had a zero percent change of doing this well.”
As Driller Promotions and Sterling Entertainment Group present their first MMA event since the injury, an event at Prior Lake’s Mystic Lake Casino Hotel, they mark one of their biggest weekends as they have fighters in three states fighting on Saturday May 31, 2014.
The main event is John Castaneda vs. Matt Brown which looks to be one of a most exciting main event as Castaneda is one of the most dynamic fighters in Minnesota and Brown, according to SEG’s Jeremy Bjornberg, is “probably the best from Wisconsin…I expect fireworks.”
