Snocross returns to Canterbury Park on January 9-10
The first races of 2015 on the Canterbury Park horse racing track will not be on turf with horses, rather the first races of 2014 will feature 400 lb sleds propelled around the manufactured, temporary snocross track with jumps and whoops.
The racetrack at Canterbury Park will be roaring…rather Brrrp…ing to life as the first races of 2015 will be held on the track on January 9-10, 2015. The races will not be horse races but Snocross, specifically the Canterbury Park’s Pirtek Snocross National presented by Jimmy John’s.
What makes this race unique is the blend of outdoor and indoor stadium seating that the racetrack offers spectators. Last year, both races were won by Tucker Hibbert, a Minnesota native from Pelican Rapids. Hibbert broke the al-time wins record with his 85th win a year ago, he will be looking to add to the total.
The Shakopee, Minnesota stop is the third of eight stops in the 2014-15 AMSOIL Championship Snocross season, the first race of 2015.
