Two of Minnesota’s most dynamic fighters will be featured in Jungle Boy Boxing’s Cold War

The frozen tundra of northern Minnesota is about to heat up as Jungle Boy Boxing invades the Black Bear Casino for a night of fights.  Making his professional main event debut, Al Sands, one of Minnesota’s top young contenders, will face against Henry Namauu.

Sand (11-1) hails from Duluth and has eleven knockouts on his record and uses a combination of lightning quick hands and punishing power to overwhelm opponents.  Namauu calls himself “gym rat” and, from his home in Las Vegas, has competed in several weight classes including heavyweight.  At the lower weight the fight will pit a conditioned Namauu against the powerful Sands for eight rounds.

The Minnesota Sports Report has only been able to see Al Sands once and it was quite a fight with Sand winning convincingly by knockout, stalking his opponent until a heavy right hand ended the fight.

Another notable addition to the card is Andre “The Diva” Tieva.  Tieva will be facing Markus “Hooch” Morris (1-0) in his (Tieva’s) boxing debut.  Even though it is Tieva’s boxing debut he has been making splashes in the MMA world and holds a 7-0 MMA record and packs a vicious punch.  Tieva will be without his favorite weapon in his boxing crossover, the choke, which he has used to end four of his seven professional fights.

Tieva is currently fighting with the Bellator but will leave the confines of the cage and enter the ring on January 25 in what could easily be the most explosive fight of the night.

Stay tuned to The Minnesota Sports Report for continued news and photos from Minnesota sporting events.  January 19, 2014 the place to be will be at the opening of the “Hive” in St. Paul, Minn. as the Xcel Energy Center will come alive with the 2014 Minnesota Swarm home opener.
