Minnesota had a great offensive day, amassing 461 yards of offense and turning over the Wolverine offense twice. Mitch Leidner had a career high 317 passing yards and hit receivers KJ Maye and Drew Wolitarsky with some key plays to put the Gophers in position to score on the 1/2 yard line.
With time enough for a couple plays and one timeout, the Gophers could not complete a pass and decided to run the ball with two seconds left, instead of kicking a field goal to tie the game. Mitch Leidner and the offensive line got stood up on the goal line as time expired, coming up inches short of a touchdown. The Wolverines would come away with a 29-26 win.
The Michigan Wolverines flooded the field and went to the Gophers sideline to take the Little Brown Jug that the Gophers won in 2014.
The Gophers will visit Ohio State next week to try for their fifth win.
