Hermantown advances to sixth consecutive title game with win over St. Cloud Apollo

Hermantown has been the runner-up at the Class A Tournament for the past five years, yes, since 2010 the second place trophy at the MSHSL Class A Tournament has gone to the Hermantown Hawks. They will advance to the 2015 Tourney Finals after defeating the St. Cloud Apollo Eagles 2-0 in the semifinals.

The Hawks controlled the game from the opening faceoff, allowing just 13 shots on goal and no goals. The Hawks gave up two power plays but allowed no goals.

The Hermantown Hawks scored a goal in the second period and a goal in the third period but overall, save for the two goals, the St. Cloud Apollo defense kept the Hermantown Hawks offense in check.

Hermantown will face the East Grand Forks Green Wave in a rematch of the 2014 finals. The Green Wave is hoping to ride the tide of success to a second straight victory while the Hermantown Hawks are hoping the sixth time is the charm.
