Annual Independence Day races at Brainerd Int’l Speedway end in controversy

The annual Trans Am Series event at the Brainerd International Raceway saw over three dozen drivers from around the midwest flying around the 2.5 mile track in Brainerd, Minnesota.

The TA class was won by Amy Ruman, her fifth victory of the year.  Ruman, in overall points this year, sits 37 points (provisionally) over Paul Fix, who finished 10th at Brainerd.  Second place in the TA class went to Appleton, WI native Cliff Ebben.

The TA2 class victory went to Vermont native, rookie Dillon Machavern, whose Mustang bested the Camero rides of Tommy Archer and Gar Robinson.

The track at Brainerd was less than ideal over the 4th of July weekend.  You can view the race results (still provisional as of publication) and more about the races at and read about the final race of the weekend.

Special thanks to Rick Corwine for sending over the fantastic photos from the race.  Click on a photo below to view it in our gallery.
