Swarm stun Knighthawks sending NLL’s best home in OT loss

The Minnesota Swarm, in their second home game of the 2015 season, faced the perennial powerhouse Rochester Knighthawks. The Swarm led 5-1 at the half only to cough up five goals in the third quarter.

The fourth quarter was a lot of back and forth and included an amazing breakaway save by Swarm goalie Zach Higgins. Nine minutes into the fourth quarter the team captain, Andrew Suitor, did what he does best, coming up with the tying goal with just minutes left.

In overtime it took the Swarm 2:21 to get a goal when Callum Crawford let loose a laser that beat Rochester’s Matt Vinc to win the game – overtime is sudden-death.

The Swarm will be back in action at The Hive in a week. Stay tuned to The Minnesota Sports Report for more action from the wide world of Minnesota winter sports.
