Twins lose to Astros but come together for higher power after game

The Minnesota Twins hosted the Houston Astros on August 30, 2015. The Astros won 4-1 on a great performance by Fiers.

The Twins sent pitcher Mike Pelfrey to the mound against Mike Fiers, who was coming off a no hitter, for the second of a three game series at Target Field in Minneapolis, Minn.

The Twins were retired in order for three innings. In the fourth, with no outs and the bases loaded, Trevor Plouffe grounded into a double play but scored Eduardo Escobar and advancing Joe Mauer to third base. It would be the only run the Twins scored in the game.

The Astros scored one run in the third and three in the fourth. Carlos Gomez returned to Minnesota for the first time in the Astros uniform. He scored one run on one hit and was left on base three times and struck out twice. Another Twin who returned to Minneapolis was Pat Neshek who struck out one and allowed two hits but escaped the inning without giving up a run.

The evening was capped off with Faith Night where fans and players alike came together along the third baseline to hear several Twins players speak about their faith and how it has changed impacted their life.

The Twins will play the rubber match of the three game series with Houston on Sunday, August 30, 2015 at 1:10 and will travel to Houston next Friday for a three game re-match. The Twins will visit Chicago during the middle of next week.
