Fort Snelling’s Memorial Day: Military History Living Timeline

10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. $9 Adult, $6 Children (6-17) Five and under Free.  “Travel through the past with a living timeline of military life during this special day honoring America’s soldiers.”  Fort Snelling’s costumed re-enactors will showcase uniforms, equipment and even some weapons demonstrations.  Veterans get in free on Memorial Day,

Running with the Bulldogs

May 25 – Racing starts at 12:45. All family days activities, pony rides, petting zoo and face painting are included.  Admission: $8 adults, Children 17 and under free.  In 2014 the Canterbury Park marketing team

built on the success of the annual Labor Day Wiener Dog races and started Running with the Bulldogs.  In 2015 they improved on the idea and decided to bookend the racing season with Running with the Bulldogs on Memorial Day and Wiener Dog Wars on Labor Day.  Canterbury Park features a GREAT family atmosphere where a family can have an outing without spending $100.

 

 

The Landing in Shakopee

Experience life along the Minnesota River. Meet fur traders, townsfolk, and farmers. Ride a horse-drawn trolley and play old-fashioned games. Watch the Wild West Show (Sunday only) and meet Civil War soldiers. Listen to a brass band and play frontier games (Monday only). Memorial Day ceremony on Monday at 2 PM. Food for purchase by Robert?s BBQ. Children are $3, adults $5.
