Mariucci Classic ends with Gopher OT defeat to Harvard

The University of Minnesota Golden Gophers broke a 2-2 tie with five an a half minutes left in the finals of the Mariucci Classic tournament when Steve Johnson scored.  The Harvard Crimson would pull their goalie and, with 34 seconds left in the game, Kyle Criscuolo would bury a shot past Gopher goalie Eric Schierhorn to force overtime.

Two minutes and thirty-nine seconds into overtime Criscuolo would score the game winner.  Minnesota was out-shot 4-0 in the sudden-death overtime period and finish runners-up in the Mariucci Classic to the Harvard Crimson.

Third place would go to Ferris State, who beat Connecticut 5-2 on January 2, 2016.
