The semifinals of the 2016 MSHSL Boys Baskeball Tournament between Osseo High School and Lakeville North High School on March 10 at the Target Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

The Lakeville North Panthers defeated the Osseo Orioles 60-56 to advance to the 2016 MSHSL Boys Basketball finals.  Lakeville North jumped to a quick lead and remained ahead for the majority of the game.  In the final minutes, Osseo went ahead for a brief moment but, because of foul troubles, the Lakeville North big men came up big on defense.

In the other semifinal of the night, the Hopkins Royals easily clinched a victory over the Apple Valley Eagles 84-60.  Opening the game, Xavier Johnson hit several baskets to put Hopkins ahead early.  Apple Valley kept it close through halftime, trailing but just one point at the half.  Hopkins came out strong to start the second half, scoring the first nine points of the second half.  Once ahead, the all-too familiar clock management offense that Hopkins’ head coach Ken Novak Jr. has implemented in past MSHSL basketball tournaments emerged, leading to the Royals clinching victory.

The Hopkins Royals and Lakeville North Panthers will meet on Saturday, March 12 with the winner being crowned the 2016 MSHSL Boys Basketball Class 4A champion.
