The 2016 MSHSL Dance Tournament to be held at Target Center on February 12-13

The 2015 MSHSL dance tournament ended on Valentine’s day with an anything but loving conclusion that resulted in five of the six Class AAA finalists being disqualified and disciplinary action taken over a protest turned bad that left one team alone at center court. Faribault was accused, and cleared by league officials prior to the tournament, of not putting together an original routine.  The Faribault ladies performed like champions and won, causing the protest.

The 2016 MSHSL Dance tournament hopes to move beyond this and promises to be an excellent showcase of the best high school dance teams in the state.  The tournament features 72 teams from 46 schools competing in the Jazz category as well as the High Kick category.

Here are some of the highlights from the 2015 tournament.  You can view more coverage of the high kick tournament and jazz tournament on The Minnesota Sports Report.
