Let the grudge match begin…In 2014, the Totino-Grace Eagles lost to the Eden Prairie Eagles by one point in the Prep Bowl. They were on a mission to not let this chance at a rematch go to waste.
The Totino Grace Eagles dominated the time of possession in the first and third quarter, but it was the third quarter that sunk the Eden Prairie Eagles. It was in the fourth quarter, however, that the Totino-Grace Eagles sunk the dagger into the Eden Prairie Eagles. Eden Prairie led by seven to start the fourth but Totino-Grace was knocking at the door, fourth and two on the four yard line, when Rocky Kreuser caught a four yard pass from Kyle Halverson, on the first play of the quarter, for a touchdown.
Totino-Grace would add two more touchdowns in the quarter, both on the ground, from Gayflor Flomo and Ivan Burlak to bring the score to 28-14 with 1:30 remaining in the game. Eden Prairie’s Carlos Williams would run the ball in for a seven yard touchdown as time expired, but they would not kick the extra point as there was no way for Eden Prairie to win at that point. The game ended 28-20 with Totino-Grace winning this time.
