Bulldogs round up Broncos, advance to NCHC Tournament Finals

The University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) Bulldogs, ranked third in the nation, skate past the Western Michigan Broncos to advance to the finals of the NCHC Frozen Faceoff.  They will face the winner of the game between North Dakota and Denver on March 18, 2017 at the Target Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

UMD lit the lamp first when Dominic Toninato scored on the power play at the 13:09 mark of the first period.  Broncos retaliated at 16:34 when Taylor Fleming scored at even strength for Western Michigan.  The two teams would trade even strength goals, Kyle Osterberg for the Bulldogs at 16:58 in the first, Colt Conrad for the Broncos at 7:10 of the second.

UMD would score the final three goals of the game, Alex Iafallo (16:11 of the 2nd), Parker Mackay (14:58 of the 3rd) and Jared Thomas buried an empty net goal at 17:59 of the 3rd.

Duluth will face the winner of the game between North Dakota and Denver on March 18, 2017 at the Target Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
