Parkers Prairie wins 2017 Class A State Title

The Parkers Prairie Panthers defeated the Legacy Christian Academy Lions 6-3 to win the 2017 MSHSL Class A Baseball title.

as Parker's Prairie took on Pillager on June 15, 2017 in the MSHSL Class A Baseball Tournament Quarterfinals at the MiniMet Ballpark in Jordan, Minnesota.

Panthers’ pitcher, Levi Arnold, pitched a complete game, allowing only six hits in the 6-3 win.  By the bottom of the fifth inning, the Panthers led 6-0.  The Lions picked up three runs in the bottom of the fifth but it was not enough.  Arnold and the Panthers held off the Lions’ attack for two more innings to win the title.

It was a sweet victory for the Parkers Prairie Panthers as they lost in extra innings in the 2016 state tournament.  Arnold ended the game with seven innings pitched and five strikeouts while a pitching combo of Josh Peterson and Logan Pierro combined for ten strikeouts.
