Indian Motorcycles to make hometown splash at X Games in Minneapolis

The city of Minneapolis will be kicking off an action packed list of special events at US Bank Stadium, starting with the 26th edition of the Summer X Games July 13 -16. The four day event will feature gravity (and common sense) defying feats performed on two or four wheels include bicycles, motorcycles, dirt bikes, skateboards followed by concerts at the end of the day on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

US Bank Stadium will be the headquarters for the action as most of the BMS, Moto X (freestyle) and skateboarding events will take place in and around the massive stadium.  One event, the motorcycle flat track racing will be held at the Mall of America on the opening night.  See the full schedule.

The Minnesota delegation of X Games competitors is slim with just one skateboarder, Alec Majerus from Rochester, Minnesota, getting an invitation. Alec, a This will be Alec’s fourth X Games.  Majerus placed third at the 2014 X Games in Austin, TX and most recently placed 14th in 2016.  Majerus will have a chance to make his home state  proud and bring home gold in Minneapolis, but will have some stiff competition with a field of 18 invited athletes all going for Gold.  Learn more about Alex.

Even though Alec is the lone Minnesotan there’s still a huge Minnesota connection at this years Summer X Games with the Indian Motorcycles flat track team.  Indian motorcycles are a brand of the Polaris Industries powersports empire based right here in Minnesota. Couple that with the fact that their flat track racing team has now won eight in a row to remain undefeated in AMA Grand National Champ competition on their Scout FTR750s.
